A Short Trip To Melaka

Hi everyone. Haven't been updating the blog for so long. One main reason = I'm as busy as a bee. Reason of being so busy = being a driver to Harith / resuming my duty as a stay-at-home mom (cooking, cleaning, teaching) / resuming my duty as a business owner to Dwi Imej (which blog is yet to be created....haihh)...meeting customer, printing dummy etc. / promoting my new venture (Hannah Edible Image) which has received a few orders since its launching almost 2 weeks ago...and the list can go on and on.

Thanks to CNY celebration, I managed to catch my breath this week. Harith is having his school holiday for one whole week. Last Saturday, we decided to go to Melaka. My sister-in-law stays there with her husband. We stopped by at my Dad's home in Batu Pahat. So we only reached Melaka on Saturday night. Lazying around the house on Sunday, and only went out to eat at a famous Cendol stall in Bukit Cina. A friend of mine promoted the stall in her blog (unfortunately her blog is in private mode, so I can't point you there). Anyway, my personal opinion, I don't find any speciality with that cendol. I've tasted better (Sorry Sue :) )

The small hemisphere stones behind Harith are actually very very old Chinese tombstones
(from Malacca Sultanate era).

Then we just drove around town without stopping. The latest Malacca attraction, 'Menara Taming Sari' is situated in the town center. Harith wanted to take a ride in it, but dear Hubby refused. Reason, 'The ride is not thrill at all." Hehehe...

Next we went to the Portuguese Settlement. We planned to have our dinner there, because I saw 'Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan' in TV3 and the food seemed so delicious. But unfortunately when we arrived, almost all the food-stalls serve alcoholic drink. So, terus cancelled the plan. We only stayed for a little while, watching the sunset.

On Monday, we went for a camping/picnic at Pengkalan Balak. It's about half-an-hour drive from my sister's place in Taman Merdeka, Batu Berendam. It was quite crowded. Almost all the chalets were fully booked. We managed to find a nice spot and put up our green tent. Earlier in the morning, I've prepared marinated chicken and we had a great time barbecueing at the beach. Harith and Hannah especially, enjoyed themselves making sandcastle and splashing in the water. Actually, Hannah is quite afraid of the ocean. So she clunged to her Daddy's back. While Daddy did the real swimming, she splased her legs too, pretending to be swimming. Hehehe...

My sister-in-law, barbecueing the chicken.

My boy, goofying around with Ummi's camera inside the tent.

The weather was quite hot. The sun was blazing. I forgot to buy sun-block lotion. As a result, my kids had sun-burnt. Arghhhh...what a bad mother I am :( But they didn't care though. They were still actively playing and running around. We stayed till around 7 p.m. I love watching the sunset. I managed to catch a pix of some college boys playing around in the water. NO, I didn't snap the pix because of the boys, hokayyy :D It's because of the 'terjun tiruk' stunt that they pulled in contrast with the sunset background.

Hannah Edible Image

I'd like to announce that I'm offering the service of edible image printing. For those who don't know, edible images are real-life images (i.e your own pix/cartoon characters) that can be placed on cakes/cupcakes/cookies and are printed by using edible ink and frosted sheets. Please see the sample below:
It's becoming a big hit in Malaysia market now, but it's hard to find places that offer such service. I'm operating from home in Johor Bahru, and I do the printing myself. So rest assured that your images are printed in a Halal-based environment. Customers from outside Johor Bahru are also welcomed. Orders will be posted by Pos Express.

For more information, please visit my other blog:

I'm very new in this cake deco biz. So any comments are very much welcomed and appreciated. TQ. :)

I'm Flat

Life has been quite hectic for the past few days. This week, a new era has began for me as well as for my darling son. Harith has started his official schooling life this year. He's in Standard One for both Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar UDA 2 (national school) as well as Sekolah Agama Bandar UDA (religious school).

For the national school, he is in the afternoon session. So naturally, religious school will be in the morning. Currently the day for religious school are only on Monday and Thursday, from 7.15 a.m. till 11.45 a.m. , and for the national school, at 1.00 p.m. till 6.30 p.m., daily. So for Monday and Thursday, it's quite a rushing time for him. The administration of the religious school has informed the parents that they might changed the schedule to daily, but with shorter time range. Maybe it'll be around 8.45 a.m. till 10.15 a.m. I will welcome the change if it's true, because it means Harith will have more time to rest in between two schools.

Harith, in national school uniform.

At the moment, both me and him are still adjusting to the new lifestyle. But I think I'm the more concern and 'over-acting' one. He still keeps his 'cool' personality...taking everything light and easy. Grrr...(have to blame his dad's gene for it! isk..isk..)

Harith's 6th Birthday

Last Saturday, we celebrated Harith's 6th birthday. It was a belated celebration. The actual date is on 30th December. We were still in Kelantan then, and we had the 1st celebration over there.

He wanted a car birthday cake. Lightning McQueen from the movie 'The Cars' is his favorite character of all time. So when we were in LA, I bought a McQueen cake pan. He finally got his wish. I stayed up till 3 a.m. in the morning to decorate the cake :) It was very tiring, but it was worth it as I saw his big smile when he woke up and saw McQueen The Cake.

It was only a small family lunch celebration. We didn't invite anybody else except for my brother and his family. So on Saturday morning, I did some cooking and came up with Nasi Minyak, Ayam Masak Merah, Acar Buah Epal and Sup Sayur. My mom cooked Pulut Kuning, Rendang Daging and Bubur Jagung. Only my niece was absent as she had some activities in the campus.

A very happy birthday boy :D
