Trick Or Treat!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Dear hubby and I finally gave in to Harith's whining. We agreed to get him a costume. He even get his sister Hannah to join in the whinings! So, even Hannah was pestering us constantly. "Ummi..adik nak pumpkin...adik nak Halloween." Haih...seeing those big round eyes and those round cheeks in that round face, pleading and pleading, I really didn't have the heart to say no. Plus, I've always have a soft spot for Hannah. Sure, I love Harith too..all the same..not a bit more, not a bit less. But Hannah really knows her way how to win me. At her age of 2 years and 6 months, already she knows the charm. Whenever she does something naughty, and I will show her 'my angry look', she will quickly come and hug my legs and says, "I love you, Mommy"... :) and THAT would definitely melt me. Haihh...

Anyway, last weekend we did go to Party City to get the costumes. After about half and hour in the store, Harith finally decided to get a Transformer Bumble Bee. Hannah was undecided between being a Bee or a Super Girl. Abah fancied her being a little Pirate but she refused. At last, she said Yes to Super Girl.

Tonight is Halloween. Since we live in an apartment, dear hubby and I decided to take the kids to a nearby neighborhood where the 'environment' is 'friendlier'. So we took them to the housing area between Calle Mayor and Anza. Sure enough..it was a very friendly neighborhood. Every house that we went to serve candies. And we passed by many other parents, taking their little ones for 'treat or trick'. I find myself quite amused. As we don't celebrate Halloween in Malaysia, I think this experience will be memorable for Harith and Hannah as it would be their only Halloween ever. (errr...unless if we move here for good laaa...I so wish this can come true..hehe). It was fun. We passed by a skeleton, a Robin fron Teen Titan, a few angels, a Minnie Mouse, a nurse and a doc (these were the parents), a Jedi, even Fredy Kruger! Hehe..

And the decorations were fantastic! Some of them really went all the way. We saw a giant Snoopy with a pumpkin, and a giant Pumpkin in another house. We saw lots of insy bitsy spider crawling up the walls, even a witch sitting on the lawn chair. Hannah was quite scared. So she spent most of her time clinging to Abah rather than trick or treat. Hehe.. but Harith really enjoyed himself. At one time, a dog even came down to greet him and he never ran away. Apparently the dog was attracted to his pumpkin basket. (I was so scared for him though). Ok..here're some pictures of them during trick or treat.

The first stop

This kind man came to Hannah when he realized Hannah was quite scared
and gave her share of candy.

The decoration in one of the houses. The house had a Halloween party going on. A very kind nurse greeted us there.

The owner of this house was not home but was kind enough to leave a bucket full
of candies in the front door.

The Transformer Bumble Bee who was excitedly going from door to door, collecting his treats.

Look at that Super Girl, clinging on her Super Dad. :)

A satisfied Bumble Bee with his bounty.

A very tired Super Girl fall asleep on our way home.
Look at that chubby face smudged with candy! :)

There's a big Halloween parade downtown in West Hollywood. The News is running a coverage on it. I so wish we can go there. No, I won't be wearing any costume..but it would be fun to see those characters around...The Flintstones, Batman, Superman, even Barack Obama and John McCain! Hehe...

I'm going to catch some movies now. It's Halloween, so there's a marathon of good horror movies on the tube. Weeeeee..........woooooo......hiiiiiiiii..........
